Lighting Plans
Horror calls for the lighting to be dark and "shady", and luckily, the location of our shoot also has dim and somewhat creepy lighting.
We just further dimmed or turned off the lights where we felt the need. As for the lighting during the shoot, it will be controlled by the camera settings of Filmic pro and with the use of flashlights, as we don't really have proper reflecting light equipment.

Setting
The location of a horror film is expected to be dark and isolated. I place with shady atmosphere to create the eerie feeling in the audience. For example, an abandoned building, an asylum, a dark basement, an attic etc. All the dramatic suspenseful scenes are expected to happen at night because that is when most of the people are most vulnerable.
Theme
Themes that frighten the viewers are used. Good vs Evil, Death or a Supernatural force introduced to everyday world. Such themes are rather bizarre and exotic. These films often deal with viewer's hidden fears, nightmares and terror of the unknown..
Narrative Structure
Narrative structure used in horror film follows Toderov's theory of Equilibrium. The audience is introduced to the characters and the setting and figure out the protagonist and the antagonist. They later face a supernatural or demonic obstacle in their lives. It usually ends with a twist or has a bittersweet conclusion.

HISTORY OF HORROR
The roots of filmed horror were an extension of a genre of literature that got its start in the late 1700s: Gothic literature. The term 'horror' did not come into use for film until the 1930s, however, the following film, ."The Hunted Castle." (Melieres, 1896) shares many elements we associate with the genre.

COVENTIONS OF HORROR GENRE
The camera angles used tend be unusual wish brings an unsettling feeling among the audience. Moreover, the scenes are normally underexposed, dimly lit or completely dark, successfully establishing a sense of eeriness for the viewers. The sound is either faint or extremely loud, it builds suspense and jerks the audience in jumpscares.

Practice Task (3)
Me and my teammates did a dialogue shoot in class. We had to choose an actor outside our team for initial practices which caused a few complications as it was difficult to convey the expressions we desired in the scene. However, the issues were countered soon enough as I patiently re-read the script to her.
Topic
Our topic was "Gaslighting." It was an argument between two close friends. Supposedly, one of the friends Yashal, spread a very sensitive secret of the other friend, Anna.

My Favorite Film Opening
Our selected genre of film is horror, so here is my film inspiration.
I chose this scene because it matches, moreover, the composition, the lighting and the setting align well with the currently planned film narrative. However, as it's just an inspiration, the camera shots and amount takes used are an exception for our shoot.
